Over the years my wife has told me about a thousand times not to track dirt and grim into the house and while I really have tried not to, I end up bringing something that should have been left out of doors onto the rug. Then last year she bought me a boot scrapper for her birthday. That’s right, you saw it correctly. It’s been a great asset to my quest of getting mud and muck off of my boots before I go into the house and I can dare say that this little scrapper has saved my marriage and is a lot less expensive then adding on a mud room to the house. Recently on a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon, I went with friends to look at houses they are considering to buy.  We visited about 7 in that afternoon and I noticed that the way all the builders had built the decks was the same.  I got home and told my wife how glad I was that she insisted our deck not only be built the way we envisioned but also incorporated some really cool detailed features that set it apart, even if everything else was the same.  The one I recall I had a fit about has ended up being one of my favorites; the deck post caps.
